Riverbend is one of the largest music festivals in the South, accommodating fans of all genres. Each June, for 9 days straight, the stages are blaring, the river’s full of boaters and the roads and bridges are covered with thousands of pedestrians. A mist all the music, there’s fried food, beer, fireworks, and vendors. There’s room for the healthy too, a Race sponsored by Bluecross Blueshield and plenty of things to walk to (including your car, parked far far away).
Riverbend 2012 is featuring several Country music and Bluegrass bands this year, including Eric Church and The Band Perry. The star of the show, Lauren Alaina, is from the Chattanooga area ( North Georgia). Riverbend 2012 will also feature Christian Praise and Worship artist Chris Tomlin and the classic Rock band Foreigner.
General admission to the festival is bought at Kangaroo Filling stations in the form of a collectable pin. The pin is worn on your clothing to get through the gate, these pins are a part of the Riverbend culture and tradition. Each year the pin features a new design. “Star passes” are also available by calling 423-756-2211. Star Passes allow admission holders reserved up-front seating at the main Coca-Cola stage.
